Lionel Richie's daughter converts to Judaism ahead of her wedding
'It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Today was that day!'
Sofia Richie, the youngest daughter of Lionel Richie and sister of Nicole Richie, has announced that she converted to Judaism before her upcoming nuptials to fiancee Elliot Grainge, who is Jewish.
The 24-year-old supermodel was raised Christian, and even spent two years at a Christian school.
“My family wanted church to be a place where we all went together. My dad was always traveling and my mom was always working. School is where I did Bible classes and studied God,” the model told the media.
However, after getting engaged to Grainge, 28, last April she was welcomed into the Jewish community.
"What a magical day. I want to thank cantor Nathan Lam for helping me along this journey of converting to Judaism," Richie posted on her Instagram account.

Sofia started dating Elliot in early 2021. He is the son of Lucian Grainge, the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group. Grainge has previously told reporters that "Take That" was performed at his bar mitzvah.
