‘More oil is coming now than before through Hormuz,’ Trump claims, blames Iran for trying to drive up the prices with ‘fake hits and mines’
President Donald Trump accused Iran of fabricating reports of attacks and mines in the Strait of Hormuz to drive up oil prices ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
“Iran is doing everything they can to drive up the price of Oil prior to the U.S. Midterm Election,” Trump wrote. He claimed more oil was passing through the strait than before the conflict began, without providing supporting evidence in the post.
Trump also accused Iranian authorities of continuing to kill protesters. “75,000 protestors lie dead in less than seven months,” he wrote, offering no evidence for the figure.
“It is shocking how the World, and the Dumocrat Party, seem not to care,” he added, while reiterating that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon.
