Netanyahu says Israel has 'no better friends' than Christians
In his Christmas Eve message, Israel's PM thanks Christians for decades of support to Jewish state

Israel's caretaker Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished a merry Christmas to 'all our Christian friends in Israel and around the world' on Tuesday.
In a video posted on the official Twitter handle, Netanyahu said Israel had no better friends than Christians, adding that the Jewish state would not have been established and would not have thrived if it hadn't been for their support throughout years.

Netanyahu also highlighted the joint values shared across the Judeo-Christian culture, which "has given the world the values of freedom, individual liberty, the sanctity of life and the belief in one God."
On Tuesday, the West Bank town of Bethlehem, believed to be the birthplace of Jesus, saw thousands of tourists from all over the world descend on it for Christmas celebrations.
On midnight, the town will see a midnight mass in the Church of Nativity, led by Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, apostolic administrator of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the most senior Roman Catholic official in the Middle East.
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas is expected to attend the event.
