Al-Qaida praises Palestinian attacks in Israel, calls for similar attacks in US
Al-Qaida praised Palestinians carrying out attacks against Israelis Saturday and called for its followers to carry out similar attacks in the United States in the latest issue of the Islamist group's English-language magazine "Inspire."
In an article titled "Let us Unite for Palestine" the group says "blessed be the hands of the Mujahid (one who engages in jihad) that are defending Palestine and al-Aqsa with knives, cars, rocks and everything they have."
It then continues to claim that in order to "liberate Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque", its followers must strike the West, "particularly America in their own backyard."
"Supporters of Israel should pay with their blood and their economy the price for their support for Israel's crimes against Islam and Muslims," the author writes.
"We must continue what was done by the Mujahideen in the blessed attacks of September 11, the invasions of Madrid, Bali, London and Paris," the article continues, with a photograph to the side from the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing which killed three and wounded more than 260.
In a second article in the same issue titled "O Knife Revolution, Head Towards America, "the group says "it is the duty of each Muslim to spread this revolt to the throats of Americans in their very own homes. Showing that we want an end to their aid to Jews against our Muslim brothers in Palestine."
"How many Jews are there in America, Europe and other kufr countries! So take matters in hand and follow the advice of your Prophet, if any of you gets hold of a Jew anywhere, let him finish him off," al-Qaida encourages its followers.
The article is followed by a graphic which tallies Palestinian attacks against Israelis in the "ongoing knife revolution" that have occurred since October.
The violence since October has killed 28 Israelis and 201 Palestinians. Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.
Attacks have steadily declined in recent weeks.
The group also used the magazine to urge all the "Mujahideen to unite" and establish a Muslim state in Egypt, in which the group claims there are "groups that are associated with Islamic work such as the Muslim Brotherhood, the Sisiist-Salafists and Ghanoushies who lead to the loss in religion and this world."
The author continues to claim that "criminals like [Egyptian President] Sisi" have "committed themselves to submissive agreements with Israel. They have realized that the price of access to power is to accept the secular constitutions and submission to Israel."
Therefore, the group says, "Jerusalem is a trust on our necks and to liberate it we must make the supporters of Israel pay the price with their blood and their economy for their aggression on our Ummah (community)."
